How it works

StakeStage, step by step

Every artist on StakeStage has their own token. Fans back the artists they believe in, unlock perks as holders, and collect a card for every release. Here's how all of it works, for fans and for artists.

1

Artists launch a coin

Each artist launches their own pump.fun coin from StakeStage, with a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000. The artist makes the first buy, at the same price as everyone.

2

Fans back them

Buy it here (or on pump.fun, GMGN and other apps) and sell it any time. The more people back an artist, the higher the price.

3

Releases drop cards

When the artist publishes a release, everyone holding the token at that moment can claim a free collectible card.

Getting started

  • A wallet. Any Solana wallet: Phantom, Solflare, Backpack and others. Click Connect wallet at the top right.
  • SOL. Trades and network fees are paid in SOL. Buy SOL on any exchange or in your wallet app and keep it in the wallet you connect. Network fees are a fraction of a cent. Solana also asks for a small one-time storage deposit (“rent”) when a new account is created, for example the first time you hold a token; your wallet shows it before you confirm.
  • Signing in. After you connect, your wallet asks you to sign a message. It's free and isn't a transaction: it only proves the wallet is yours. Signing in lets you like tracks, open holder-only content, claim cards and set up an artist profile. Buying and selling only need a connected wallet.
  • Your recovery phrase stays with you. StakeStage never asks for it and never holds your funds. Your tokens and SOL stay in your wallet.

Buying and selling

  • Open an artist's page, enter how much SOL to spend and confirm in your wallet. The trade goes straight to pump.fun and the tokens land in your wallet in the same transaction. Selling is one confirmation too.
  • Artist coins are ordinary pump.fun coins, so you can also trade them on pump.fun, GMGN, Axiom, in Phantom and other apps. The artist page shows every trade, wherever it happened.
  • Max slippage (2%) protects you if the price moves while your transaction is on its way. If you'd get less than that allows, the trade is cancelled and you only pay the network fee.
  • Trades pay pump.fun's fees (about 1.25% on a new coin, less as it grows). The trade panel shows them before you confirm.
  • Every trade is public on the artist's page, including the artist's own buys and sells.

The price curve

There's no order book and no waiting for someone to take the other side. Each coin starts on pump.fun's bonding curve, which holds the tokens and the SOL paid for them. You buy from it and sell back to it, and a formula sets the price:

  • every buy raises the price a little, every sell lowers it;
  • early backers pay less, but the price can fall below what you paid if others sell;
  • you can always sell back, because the SOL paid in stays in the curve to buy tokens back.

There's no allocation for the team or the artist: the artist buys their first tokens in the launch transaction, at the starting price, so nobody can get in before them. 793M of the 1,000,000,000 tokens are sold on the curve. When they're all bought (about 85.01 SOL paid in, a total value near 410.9 SOL), pump.fun moves the coin to a PumpSwap pool with that SOL and the remaining tokens, and trading carries on there — on StakeStage too.

A brand-new token starts with a total value (price × 1B tokens) of about 27.96 SOL ≈ $3,058. What a first purchase gets on a new curve:

You spendYou getShare of supply
0.1 SOL ≈ $10.943.5M tokens0.35%
1 SOL ≈ $109.3934.2M tokens3.41%
5 SOL ≈ $546.95151.7M tokens15.16%

After the 1.25% fee. Later buys get fewer tokens for the same SOL, because the price has gone up.

Holder tiers and perks

Artists can set up to three tiers, each with a minimum number of tokens, for example:

Supporter

Early access to new releases, private previews

Insider

Exclusive content, merch and ticket discounts

Inner circle

Meet & greet raffles, your name in the credits

  • Your tier follows the tokens in your wallet: buy more to move up; sell and you may drop down.
  • Holder-only content: artists can post files and messages that only a tier and above can open.
  • Early access: an artist can open a release's tracks to a tier before the release date; everyone else can listen from that date.
  • Credits: holders of the top tier can be named in a release's credits.
  • If an artist raises a tier's threshold, it takes effect after 14 days, so nobody loses a tier overnight. Lowering applies at once.
  • Perks like discounts or meet & greets are promised and delivered by the artist, not by StakeStage or pump.fun.

Release cards

Every release comes with collectible cards for the fans who were there: a kind of digital vinyl.

  • When the artist publishes a release, StakeStage records how many tokens every wallet holds at that exact moment (a snapshot).
  • If you held at least the artist's first tier then (any amount, if the artist has no tiers), you can claim one card for free: you only pay the network fee and the card's storage deposit (about 0.003 SOL). Releases you can claim from show up under the bell at the top and on the release page.
  • Each card is Common, Rare or Legendary. The artist sets the odds (by default: Common 80%, Rare 17%, Legendary 3%) and they're locked when the release is published. StakeStage draws your rarity once and it stays fixed for your wallet: asking again won't re-roll it.
  • Cards are numbered within each rarity, so you might hold Legendary #2.
  • Cards are soulbound Solana tokens: they can't be sold or transferred, and no more copies of yours can ever be made. They show up in your wallet and in your Library as proof you were there.
  • Tokens bought after a release count for the next release, not that one.

For artists

  1. 1

    Get an invite

Anyone can create an artist profile.

  2. 2

    Create your profile

Connect your wallet, sign in and open Launch token: your name, photo, bio, links and your music.

  3. 3

    Launch your coin

Pick a name and a ticker, then make the first buy (at least 0.1 SOL). StakeStage creates the coin on pump.fun with you as its creator, and your buy happens in the same transaction, so nobody can buy before you. A second signature splits the creator fee with StakeStage.

  4. 4

    Earn from trading

pump.fun pays a coin's creator 0.30% of every trade, on any app. You get 50% of it and StakeStage 50%; pay it out to your wallet from the Dashboard at any time. Nobody can take out the SOL in the curve: that's what pays holders who sell.

  5. 5

    Publish releases

Singles, EPs and albums: tracks (MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC or M4A, up to 200 MB each), cover, tracklist, early access and the card design and odds. Drafts are private. Publishing takes one click, and that moment is the snapshot for the release's cards and credits.

  6. 6

    Reward your holders

Set up your tiers and post holder-only content in the Dashboard. Keep the perks you promise realistic: you deliver them.

Safety and risks

What protects you

  • StakeStage never holds your SOL or tokens. Trades run on pump.fun's programs, straight between your wallet and the curve or pool.
  • Each coin's supply is fixed at 1,000,000,000. Nobody can take SOL out of a curve: it only pays holders who sell.
  • StakeStage can't pause, reverse or block trades, and neither can the artist.

What you should know

  • pump.fun is run by a separate company. Its programs, fees and rules are theirs and can change; StakeStage doesn't control them.
  • Because the coins trade on every pump.fun app, trading bots buy and sell them too. Prices can move very fast.
  • Artist tokens are fan collectibles, not investments. They don't pay dividends, royalties or any share of an artist's income.
  • Prices go down as well as up. With the fees on both sides, buying and selling right away returns about 2.5% less. Only spend what you can afford to lose.
  • Watch out for look-alike coins. Anyone can create a pump.fun coin with any name. Only trust artist coins you reach from an artist's page on this site.

FAQ

Why did my buy fail?+
Usually one of these: the price moved more than your max slippage while the transaction was on its way, or the wallet didn't have enough SOL left for the network fee and storage deposits. You only pay the network fee for a failed transaction.
Why did my first buy cost a little more SOL?+
The first time you hold a coin, Solana creates a token account for it in your wallet, and pump.fun keeps a small record per wallet: one-time storage deposits of about 0.004 SOL in total. Later buys don't need them.
I bought after a release came out. Where's my card?+
Cards go to wallets that held the token when the release was published. Keep holding and you'll be in the snapshot for the next one.
Can I sell or send my card?+
No. Cards are soulbound to the wallet that claimed them, so they stay a keepsake rather than something to trade.
Can StakeStage take my SOL or tokens?+
No. StakeStage has no program of its own holding funds: trades go straight to pump.fun, and your tokens never leave your wallet without your signature.
Why pump.fun?+
So artist coins can be found and traded everywhere people trade on Solana — pump.fun, GMGN, Axiom, Phantom — and move to a real PumpSwap pool when they grow. StakeStage adds the artist's page, music, perks and cards on top.
Do I need to sign in to trade?+
No, a connected wallet is enough. Signing in is for likes, holder-only content, cards and artist profiles.
Which network is this?+
Solana. Any Solana wallet works; make sure it's set to the same network.
